Elements and Principles
Description: For this project, we went over the various elements and principles in art. We had to take 12 different pictures, the picture above is the one I used for movement. The 12 different pictures needed to cover: lines, shapes, texture, value, color, emphasis, space, contrast, movement/rhythm, unity, balance, and patterns/repetition. Once we had a picture taken for each element and principle, we created a presentation or game for the class.
Extension Activity: When covering all of the elements and principles, I think it would be fun to learn two new elements or principles each day, and having students create a drawing on a plain piece of paper that incorporates the two that they learned that day. At the end of learning all elements and principles, I would have them create one final drawing to show their favorite element or principle that they learned about. My top five images that I took:
